YOUR KILLING FLOOR is the second LP of the double album cumulatively called YOUR KILLING FLOOR. It chronicles events, relationships, and emotions in the lead-up and aftermath of the sexual assault that nearly destroyed my life in 2016. I intended to release YOUR KILLING FLOOR soon after its completion in 2018 but various circumstances prevented that from happening. It feels bizarre to finally get this project out into the world now that the events that inspired it feel so distant. YKF is not the first daggers//cloaks project about my assault, but it has a wider field of view than "pictures of/reconciling abuse," the previous double LP which focused on the relationship between myself and the person who assaulted me. YKF deals more with the larger consequences of the assault, which included a splintering of the scene I was involved with at the time and the loss of several close friendships. I am very proud of the work I put into this project; to finally put the whole thing out feels like a firm close of the door on a 5-year chapter of my life. It is extremely gratifying to be sitting here typing this in 2020 knowing that for all the trauma I endured, and despite the challenges I still face, almost every aspect of my life has improved even in the two years since I completed this project. I am grateful to my friends and enemies for helping me get here, and to noise for helping me heal. You couldn't kill me. Thank you to anyone who listens to this album.
